πŸͺŸ Windows – SmartScreen & Defender

Windows displays "Windows protected your PC"β€Ί
Click "More info" (blue link below the message), then the "Run anyway" button that appears. This message is a warning for software not signed by a major publisher β€” it does not mean the software is dangerous.
Windows Defender has quarantined the fileβ€Ί
Open Windows Defender β†’ Virus & threat protection β†’ Protection history β†’ find the entry β†’ "Restore". Then add the installation folder to Defender exceptions to avoid future blocks.
Installation fails silentlyβ€Ί
Ensure Node.js 18+ is installed (download from nodejs.org). Check logs at %LOCALAPPDATA%\JustOnWeb Downloader\logs\app.log.

🍎 macOS – Gatekeeper

macOS refuses to open the applicationβ€Ί
Go to System Settings (βš™οΈ) β†’ Privacy & Security. Scroll to the "Security" section. You will see the app name with an "Open Anyway" button β€” click it and confirm.
The "Open Anyway" button does not appearβ€Ί
Try via Terminal: right-click on the app β†’ Open β†’ Open (confirm). Or via Terminal: xattr -cr "/Applications/JustOnWeb Downloader.app"
The app crashes at startup on macOSβ€Ί
Check logs at ~/Library/Logs/JustOnWeb Downloader/app.log. Ensure macOS 12 Monterey or later is installed.

πŸ”‘ Licence

The licence pop-up reappears at every launchβ€Ί
Check that the app has write access in ~/Library/Application Support/JustOnWeb Downloader/ (macOS) or %LOCALAPPDATA%\JustOnWeb Downloader\ (Windows).
Error "Invalid key" or "Licence revoked"β€Ί
Check that you are copying the key exactly as it appears in the email (format JOWD-XXXXXXXXXX). If the problem persists, contact support with your purchase email.
Error "Maximum number of computers reached"β€Ί
Your licence is already activated on 2 computers. Contact support with your licence key to free up a slot.
Error "Connection required" after 7 daysβ€Ί
The 7-day offline grace period has expired. Connect the computer to the internet and restart the application to validate the licence.

πŸ“ Large case files & performance

The expansion takes a very long timeβ€Ί
For large case files (hundreds of documents), expansion can take 5 to 20 minutes. This is normal β€” the app must load each level of the tree structure. Do not close the browser.
The download stops mid-wayβ€Ί
Simply restart the application. Already downloaded files will be detected and skipped. Downloading resumes automatically from the first missing document.
Some documents are not downloadedβ€Ί
Check that you have access to these documents on JustOnWeb (some may be protected or require specific access). Check the logs for more details.
